Travel News Asia 13 October 2003

The Langham Place Hotel, which is due to open July 1, 2004, has already joined SRS-WORLDHOTELS, as a member of the elite Deluxe Collection.

The contemporary, stylish hotel is aiming to be one of Hong Kong’s most chic “design hotels”. The 686-room hotel, with more than 50 luxurious suites, is the flagship of a mega 1.8 million sq. ft development that embraces the hotel and includes a state of the art shopping mall with over 300 shops and a 60-storey A-grade office tower.

Rising 42-storeys from the heart of Kowloon, the Langham Place Hotel enjoys spectacular views over Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour.

Framed by 13,000 sq. ft. of park, lakes and waterfalls, with its own dedicated porte-cochère on Shanghai Street, the hotel is on the doorstep of some of Hong Kong's most famous street-markets.

“We have one of the most exciting locations in Hong Kong in walking distance of the nearby Ladies Market, Sports Goods Market, Bird Market and more – and are delighted to be joining SRS-WORLDHOTELS,” said Brett Butcher, General Manager of Langham Place Hotel.

All rooms will boast broadband Internet access and personal safes sufficiently sized to accommodate a notebook PC or a video camera, with the additional feature of allowing charging while it is safely stored.

Premium accommodation (354 executive rooms and 52 suites) have bathrooms with separate bath and shower, 42” flat screen plasma televisions and three telephones, including a handy cordless phone which can be used anywhere in the hotel. Additionally, all suites are equipped with kitchens - perfect for long-stay business guests and families.

The Lifestyle Spa and Health Club are located on the top three floors of the hotel and have stunning views across Kowloon, Hong Kong Island and Lantau. The luxury Spa, designed by Spa Chakra, has eight treatment rooms offering a range of complete holistic, beauty, health and wellness therapies.

One unique and sensational experience will include “foot spas” with elite tranquillity chairs that allow clients to immerse their feet in soothing aromatic water prior to a pedicure, offering a sensational experience while relaxing and taking in the sweeping views.

The Lifestyle spa is linked to a health club, Lifestyle Café and rooftop 20-metre swimming pool with hot tub and private cabana decks for total relaxation and discreet privacy.

On the 5th level, an unique outlet, Portal - Work and Play, offers a fashionable entertainment and business environment. In addition to the bar (which offers live entertainment), there is an integrated business area with the latest hi-tech facilities such as complimentary broadband internet lounge and a fully equipped business centre.

Wireless communications facilities extend throughout all public areas in the hotel.
