Asian Trails opens new Khao Lak office in Thailand

Travel News Asia 1 December 2003

Asian Trails opened a new office in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province, South Thailand Sunday in order to service the growing needs of tourists visiting this new beach destination.

Khao Lak which is located a one hour drive north of Phuket Airport, has seen increasing popularity, especially among repeat visitors to Thailand aiming to get away from busier beach destinations. At the moment around 50 three to five star hotels and resorts have either opened or are planning to open in 2004.

Asian Trails' Khao Lak office is managed by a Swiss, Marco Schmid, and is the 18th Asian Trails office.

Asian Trails' Group Managing Director, Luzi Matzig, said that the latest forecast for year end 2003 looks surprisingly positive as Asian Trails Thailand will end the year with an 18% growth over 2002, in spite of a substantial SARS related slowdown between April to August 2003.
