The telephone infrastructure in Vietnam is rapidly improving. As the country is so large there are a lot of local dialing codes you should be aware of if travelling around this beautiful country. One thing you should know is there is often two ways of spelling the same place in Vietnam, even the country name Vietnam can also be spelt Viet Nam, just as Danang can also be spelt Da Nang. We recently asked Vietnam's government staff what the correct spelling was, they explained that names in two words is the older format and the one word style is newer. That said both are still often used even by the Government themselves. The country code for Vietnam is 84 followed by the code of whichever city you are calling.
