Eastin Hotels & Eastin Residences Group has appointed Mr. Mark Heather as Group General Manager. Mark will be based at Eastin Hotel Makkasan, Bangkok as hotel general manager and will also oversee other general managers of Eastin Hotels and Eastin Residences. Mark was most recently
employed as General Manager of Anantara Golden Triangle
Resort. Prior to moving back to Thailand, Mark was a general
manager at Harbour View Hotel in Vietnam where he upgraded all the
products and services and for the first time brought profit to the
owner (Minor International). Prior to that he opened two luxury
boutique resorts in Southern Thailand namely Nakamanda in Krabi
and La Flora Khao Lak. He was also general manager at Villa Santi
Hotel and Resort in Luang Prabang, Laos. Before entering into the hospitality industry, Mark established a small retail and wholesale book business in the UK. After 12 years of operations he sold the business to find a new challenge where he landed in Australia then Thailand. He was a corporate training manager at Princess Hotels, a lecturer on International Hospitality for the Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association and a program director for Mahidol University respectively. A total of six years in developing training programs for hospitality including human resources, sales, marketing, front office, food & beverage and promotion. Eastin Hotel Makkasan, Bangkok recentlyu completed a full renovation. All 280 guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with luxury bedding, deluxe amenities and the latest technology including internet access and hi tech in room entertainment systems. The hotel is conveniently located next to the expressway leading to Suvarnabhumi Airport, only a 30 minute drive away from the hotel. Access to the airport will get even easier after the eventual opening of the Airport Link Terminal that sits right next to the hotel.
