Best Western has signed a management contract for its first hotel in Boracay, Philippines. The Boracay Tropics Resort will be rebranded the Best Western Boracay Tropics in April 2009. The resort is located in the middle of Boat Station 2, where most of Boracay's entertainment is found. It is also only a few-minutes walk to the famous white-sand beach. The 50-room BW Boracay Tropics is a blend of Mediterranean and Asian architecture. Each room opens to its own balcony with most of them overlooking the pool and lush tropical gardens. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, cable TV, mini bar, private shower with hot and cold water and safety deposit box. It has cabanas of six suites complete with reception area. The premier suites come complete with a kitchen and a dining area of its own. Boracay is located in the Visayas region of the Philippines and is accessible by plane through Panay island where one may proceed to Caticlan, the jump off point for a ferry boat to Boracay. Best Western Boracay Tropics can easily arrange for these transfers. The opening of Best Western in Boracay is an addition to the two hotels now in the Philippines – Best Western Astor Hotel Makati and Best Western Hotel La Corona. “Best Western aims to be in all of the top destinations in Asia and our entry in Boracay has been much anticipated. We want to be wherever our guests want to be,” said Best Western International Vice President for international operations in Asia Glenn de Souza.
