Europcar Australia has expanded its fleet by adding the versatile Hyundai i30 to its intermediate range of hire vehicles.

The 5-door hatch features a 2.0 litre petrol unit delivering a healthy 105kW at 6000 rpm whilst also being fuel efficient using 7.6 litres per 100km and emitting 182 grams of carbon dioxide per km.

Ashley Jurberg, group marketing manager for Europcar Australasia, said, “The Hyundai i30 complements our existing fleet well.

“Our customers have become more environmentally conscious and this has created an increase in demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles like the Hyundai i30.

“It has a good record in reliability and safety and is also roomy and comfortable.”

In Australia, Europcar has a partnership with non-profit environmental conservation organisation Greenfleet. Through a carbon neutralisation program 17 trees are planted for each new vehicle added to Europcar’s fleet and customers can elect to make a donation each time they hire a vehicle.

The company also recently introduced the popular Audi A3 Sportback 1.9 TDi e model which combines fuel efficiency with dynamic performance from a range of hi-tech engineering refinements.

Europcar will also become one of the first major car hire companies in Australia and New Zealand to add electric powered vehicles to its fleet. Customers will be able to rent an electric powered Nissan vehicle from selected outlets as early as next year.
