AirAsia X has launched flights between the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur's International Airport and Taipei, Taiwan. The new Kuala Lumpur - Taipei route, operated with 383-seat Airbus A330 aircraft, will offer travellers 5 direct flights weekly. Dato’ Sri Ong Tee Keat said, “I am proud that the Kuala-Lumpur-Taipei route has finally taken off. Again, AirAsia has made another achievement in Malaysia’s aviation industry. AirAsia’s move in promoting connectivity to places beyond Malaysia is seen as an effort to promote more travel and business opportunities for both Malaysians and foreign users. With Taipei added into AirAsia’s route network, this further strengthens AirAsia’s foothold in this region and enhance economic ties between the two countries.” AirAsia Group CEO Dato’ Sri Tony Fernandes, said, “Taipei has great history, culture and is famed as a food paradise. The city embraces modernity while retaining its traditions and old world charm which I anticipate would be highly popular for both business and leisure travelers. “We expect to see excellent traffic from Asia, Europe and Australia feeding into our flights connecting to Taipei via our hub in Kuala Lumpur. And similarly, we look forward to welcoming passengers from Taiwan into Malaysia connecting them to destinations on our extensive route network across ASEAN countries, as well as to Australia, China, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Europe.” AirAsia X also currently flies from
Kuala Lumpur to Australia (Melbourne, Perth and Gold Coast), China
(Hangzhou and Tianjin), and Europe (London). See other recent news regarding: Airlines, Aviation, Flights, First Class, Business Class, GDS, Miles, Hotels, Promotions, New Hotels, Visitor Arrivals, Cruises, Free Deals, AirAsia, AirAsia X, Taipei, Taiwan, KL, Kuala Lumpur |
