Best Western International, a hotel chain with over 4,000 hotels in more than 80 countries, is joining hands with Universal Studios Japan to open the Best Western Premier Hotel Osaka Bay, USJ’s official hotel. A twelve-storey hotel with 190 rooms, construction begins this month with a planned opening of July 2009. The hotel has divided its floor into three main concepts: Spire, Moon Light, and Day Light. Guest rooms will be designed with a sense of fun and fantasy. Guests will also be able to enjoy the scenery from the top floor open-kitchen sky restaurant, as lighting changes from day to evening. Universal Studios Japan is Osaka’s answer to Tokyo Disneyland. The third movie-based theme park in the Universal Studios' family, it was the first opened outside of the United States. Visitors experience live-action shows and amusement park rides inspired by some of the more popular Universal Studios' films, including Jaws, Back to the Future and Terminator. The park also features a number of American-style restaurants centered on movie themes. “As the world's largest hotel chain, we share a similar business model with Universal Studio. With 61 years history of Best Western hospitality excellence and over 90 years of Universal Studio’s unique entertainment record, we both have achieved and succeeded to offer our guests the most enjoyable experience. It is our commitment to provide best services to the guests that truly makes this a great partnership,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western Vice President International Operations Asia. Mr. Akiyuki Hasegawa, The president of Landowner Japan Co.,Ltd. added, “We anticipate that the Best Western Premier Hotel Osaka Bay will achieve an average occupancy rate of at least 70% within the first year; our main target clientele here will be to accommodate families and leisure tour groups.” See other recent news regarding: Airlines, Aviation, Hotels, Best Western International, Japan, Osaka, New Hotel |
