WORLDHOTELS affiliated hotels in Beijing struck gold celebrating record results during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Hotel rates soared with a huge increase in visitors to the Chinese capital from the start of the Olympics. A review of hotel performance by Deloitte, the business advisory firm, showed that on the opening night of the games, revenue per available room (revPAR) in the city's hotels increased by an incredible 546% to US$390. Occupancy reached 86.3%, as average room rates increased by 421% to US$451. The following two nights also saw strong growth in occupancy and average room rates, with bumper results reported for the remainder of the event. ”Our six WORLDHOTELS affiliated hotels in Beijing achieved record results in line with the Deloitte findings,” said Roland Jegge, Vice President, Asia Pacific for WORLDHOTELS. With occupancy of 99.5%, Deluxe Collection listed Hotel Kunlun exceeded all records with average room rates over 4,000 RMB. “Food and beverage revenue was also double our best month ever, thanks to corporate sponsorship events and a full house,” said Hotel Kunlun General Manager, Barry Suen. WORLDHOTELS Deluxe Collection listed in Beijing are Hotel Kunlun, Loong Palace Hotel and Resort and The Presidential. First Class Collection listed are Beijing Landmark Hotel, Jianguo Hotel and Prime Hotel.
