Lufthansa, SWISS and Travelport GDS have signed a long-term, full content agreement which will run until the end of 2011 and give all travel agencies worldwide that make bookings via GDS Galileo and Worldspan access to all Lufthansa and SWISS published fares and inventory. In addition, all the participating travel agencies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein that subscribe to Galileo and Worldspan will be able to book Preferred Fares with Lufthansa and SWISS without the imposition of any surcharge. "Travelport GDS, with its Galileo and Worldspan systems, is an important distribution partner for the sale of Lufthansa fares. We look forward to working closely together over the coming years," said Thierry Antinori, Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales, Lufthansa Passenger Airlines. "The commercial terms of this new agreement allow us to offer participating travel agencies all of our fares without applying additional Preferred Fare fees until the end of 2011. This will give all travel agencies using Galileo or Worldspan long term peace of mind." Bryan Conway, Travelport GDS Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Brazil added, "We are delighted to have signed such ground-breaking agreements with Lufthansa and SWISS and to be able to guarantee surcharge-free booking for all of our travel agency customers for over three years. These unrivalled agreements will certainly sharpen our competitive edge in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and further illustrate our ability to work with our airline partners to reach a situation that is not only mutually beneficial but also benefits our agency partners."
