To celebrate the launch of AirAsia X services between Perth and Kuala Lumpur, the low-cost long-haul airline is offering one-way fares from as little as A$99.

AirAsia X will release its special opening deal on-line tomorrow May 16 valid for sale until Saturday May 17 for travel between November 3 2008 and April 30 2009.

The Perth service is the airline’s second long-haul destination in Australia and the third international route, following the Gold Coast, which was launched in November 2007 and Hangzhou in China which began services in February this year.

AirAsia X operates four flights from Kuala Lumpur to the Gold Coast with one flight per day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights from the Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur leave the Gold Coast Airport once daily Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

The airline also operates five direct return flights per week between Kuala Lumpur and Hangzhou in China.

AirAsia X services to Western Australia will start early November 2008, initially with six flights per week, increasing to daily services by March 2009.
