The JW Marriott Medan has appointed Ms. Nenden Rukasah as Director of Marketing.

Nenden Rukasah has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry, and has held progressive positions in global five star properties under Starwood Hotels & Resorts such as Le Meridien, Sheraton Media, Jakarta as well other hotels like Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, Indonesia. She has worked in a variety of departments within hotels including Public Relations, Revenue Management, Reservations Department, Sales and Events Department.

Nenden's responsibilities in Sales & Marketing include strategic planning and overseeing the hotel's communications and marketing programme, which includes advertising, promotions, sponsorships, events, database marketing, media relationships and activities.

Nenden holds a degree from the University of California, Riverside and Master of International Business Administration and Master of Business Administration, major in Marketing from West Coast University Los Angeles, California.

Opening in January 2009, the new JW Marriott Medan offers 287 guest rooms which boast luxurious bedding, 37 " to 42" flat-panel TV and connectivity to plug and play iPods and other personal devices. Guests can relax with a dip in the outdoor pool, stay fit with a workout on the new state of the art fitness equipments in the 24 hrs health club or treat yourself to a well deserved treatment in the Quan Spa.

For receptions, conferences or weddings, the hotel can accommodate intimate or large gatherings up to 1,200.
