Specially chosen Korean Air cabin attendants are now offering an innovative “Flying Art Ambassadors” service on select flights. These Ambassadors will provide information about museums, effective tour routes, artists and famous artworks at the destination city to customers that want assistance. Since March, after Korean Air-sponsored multimedia guides were launched at the Paris Louvre Museum in February, Korean Air cabin attendants have been providing such service on Paris-bound flights. With the expansion, Ambassadors will also be available on flights to London, Amsterdam, Madrid and Incheon. On Incheon-bound flights, the Ambassadors can also introduce Korean museums, culture and tourist sites, using Korean Air’s City Guidebook. Korean Air spent the past six months to prepare the Ambassador flight attendants. The 109 Ambassadors were chosen through a 5 to 1 competitive rate, include those with degrees in art and culture, museum docent or curator experience, and even artists who have held their own personal exhibition. The Ambassadors received online and offline education about famous museums, their artwork and artists. For two days on October 9 and 10, all 109 flight attendants participated in a special workshop as final preparation. More than 2,300 passengers on Paris-bound flights have used this service since launch in March to learn about the Louvre and Orsay Museums and more. After this expansion to London, Amsterdam and Madrid, Korean Air will further expand this service to New York, Vienna, St. Petersburg and Rome early next year.
