Accor's has opened the economy class, Ibis Wuxi. Wuxi is a key regional business centre only two hours drive north of Shanghai. It is the 5th Ibis hotel to open in China. A further 36 Ibis hotels are under construction or committed for development by 2008. This will bring the total Ibis network in China between 40 to 50 hotels in key commercial centres around the country. Located on picturesque Taihu Lake in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Wuxi is an important economic centre and a transportation hub for the region. Often referred to as "Little Shanghai" because of its highly developed industry and flourishing economy, Wuxi is listed as one of China's 15 key economic centers. Nine highways connect Wuxi with important cities like Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. Wuxi has its own airport and fast train services. The 216-room Ibis Wuxi is located in Wuxi's new business district, near major shopping centers, office buildings, banks, government offices, automotive and telecommunication companies. The hotel is only 10 kilometers from the airport and 5km from the railway station. It is also just 3 kilometres away from major expressways connecting the city with Nanjing and Shanghai. The hotel offers one meeting room, one restaurant and one bar, and other key design elements of the brand's contemporary room concept. Ibis Wuxi is offering an opening rate of only 158rmb until 31 December 2007 inclusive of breakfast. |
