Singapore Airlines today starts its four times weekly B777 services to Hyderabad.

With the new service, Singapore Airlines will now fly to eight Indian destinations: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. This will bring to 47 the total number of non-stop weekly flights that Singapore Airlines operates to India. SilkAir, the regional wing of the Airline, operates a further 9 weekly services to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Hyderabad, the capital city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, is located almost in the middle of India. It is India’s fifth-largest city.

Steeped in history, and culture, this city offers the aesthetically inclined picturesque scenes and handicrafts such as glass embedded bangles and exquisite textiles. In fact Hyderabad is also known as the ‘City of Pearls’ given that pearls from all over the world are brought to the city’s skilful artisans who can pierce and string them without damage.

Christened as the second silicon valley of India after Bangalore, Hyderabad houses many IT majors and research and development centres, affirming its place in the global IT community.

Being centrally located, Hyderabad is well served within India by trains and roads (it lies at the intersection of two major national highways).
