Great Hotels of the World has launched a travel writing competition, offering one lucky winner the chance to be sent on a five night VIP trip for two to Midtown Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, inclusive of flights, transfers and a variety of added extras.

“Our previous travel writing competition was such a great success, we’ve decided to launch another one and this time we’re handing the judging over to the public,” said Carly Gotz, group director – sales and marketing at Great Hotels. “There are some very talented writers out there and this will give them a chance to have their stories published. The writer of the story with the most votes will be treated a VIP city-break to Istanbul.”

Entrants are invited to submit a story of no more than 500 words on their own travel experiences under one of the following themes:

1. Most romantic travel story
2. Funniest spa story
3. Embarrassing golf story

Entries should be sent by email by Friday 27 August 2010. All entries will be posted on Great Hotels of the World’s website after the closing date, where the public will vote for their favourite story. The entry with the most votes will win the trip to Istanbul where they will write about their travel experience.
