Axel Jarosch joins Anantara Al Madina A’Zarqa in Oman as General Manager

As Anantara Al Madina A’Zarqa Resort & Spa prepares for its grand opening in early 2011, the five-star resort, which pays homage to traditional Arabian architecture and is set on a natural peninsula jutting into the Gulf of Oman, has appointed Axel Jarosch as General Manager.

Born in Iran but of German nationality, Axel spent his student years in the Philippines. Fluent in German, English and Spanish, he boasts a college degree in economics, Hotel Management plus Trainer and Educator for Hotel Management qualifications from the German Chamber of Commerce, alongside a BA in International Hotel Management.

Axel has held managerial positions in China and Malaysia, providing valuable experience with elite global brands like Starwood Hotels and Resorts and The Leading Hotels of the World.

In 2005 his appointment as Executive Assistant Manager at Constance Le Prince Maurice, Mauritius turned into a promotion to Lodge Manager for Constance Lodge Goche Ganas, Namibia and then Resident Manager for Constance Lémuria Resort of Praslin, Seychelles.

Two years later Axel snapped up a General Manager role for the opening of a small luxury boutique resort in Sri Lanka for the Per Aquum group; the successful launch of which propelled him into a second General Manager role for the 2008 opening of the company’s sister resort in Dubai, the Desert Palm, with both properties affiliated to Small Luxury Hotels of the World and gaining instant recognition with Conde Nast.
