American Airlines has appointed Patrick O'Keeffe as Vice President - Information Technology Services, effective immediately. O'Keeffe replaces Maya Leibman, who was recently named President - AAdvantage.

O'Keeffe will oversee the technology strategies for the Business and Operations Systems department at American, which is part of the Information Technology Services organization. In this role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of technology for a wide range of operating groups at American, including: cargo, finance, employee technology and enterprise infrastructure.

O'Keeffe will also have responsibility for the implementation of Jetstream, the airline's new real-time Passenger Service System, which serves as the technical foundation for American and American Eagle reservations, pricing and ticketing, inventory, flight information and check-in, sales, and other critical airline functions. The new system will enable American to deliver products and services to its customers and employees with greater consistency and agility.

Since 1995, O'Keeffe has served in a wide range of leadership positions at American, including marketing planning, onboard service, food and beverage, customer technology, revenue and planning technology and, most recently, as the business lead on the Jetstream initiative.

"Patrick brings more than 22 years of airline experience to his new role – particularly in the successful development of business and technology strategies," said Monte Ford, Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President – Information Technology. "His knowledge of the airline is vast, and his cross-functional leadership experience gives him a unique perspective as we continue to invest wisely in technology to further improve the customer and employee experience at American."

O'Keeffe earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Limerick University and completed his Master of Business Administration at Rice University.
