AirAsia X’s 2011 World Seat Sale, with special low fares to the UK, India, Taiwan and China are available from today for booking until 28 November 2010 for travel between 1 December 2010 and 31 March 2011.

To coincide with the sale, AirAsia X has announced details of its new Flight Transfer Service which allows guests to book all the way to their end destination and avoid immigration queues when connecting between flights at the airline’s hub in Kuala Lumpur.

The new system is available for selected flights on AirAsia X long haul routes covering China, India, Taiwan, UK and Australia, with Korea and Japan to follow soon.

“Guests no longer have to clear immigration in the Kuala Lumpur low cost carrier terminal, go through the hassle of checking in their luggage twice to connect to their onward destinations or worry about transit visa applications,” said AirAsia X Head of Commercial Darren Wright. “Our aim is to ensure seamless travel for connecting guests transiting in Kuala Lumpur and traveling with us to other destinations within the AirAsia X network, along with offering the lowest fares possible.”

The Flight Transfer Service allows guests to book a connecting flight under one itinerary.

Guests will connect between flights via the transfer hall at Kuala Lumpur within a shorter time period (from 90 minutes up to 6 hours), while check in luggage will be tagged and transferred directly to the final destination.

“This service is among the many benefits of AirAsia’s recently introduced New Skies booking system, which has enabled us to move away from the point-to-point booking and transit model,” Mr Wright added. “However, this is just the start of the improvements as we plan to roll out the system across other routes including between Kuala Lumpur and Bali and Phuket in the future.”

AirAsia X also has a sale on its Premium Flatbed seats from today until 28 November 2010 for travel between 22 November 2010 and 28 February 2011. Terms and conditions apply.
