Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Wednesday, 12 May 2010

Korean Air is to increase its flights between Incheon and Honolulu from 7 flights to 10 flights a week, starting 12 June 2010.

The newly increased flight KE053 will depart Incheon International Airport every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10 am and arrive in Honolulu International Airport at 11:45 pm. The returning flight KE054 will depart Honolulu every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1:40am and arrive in Incheon at 6:20am on the next day.

With the added schedule, Korean Air passengers will be able to enjoy a wider range of options when planning travel between Hawaii and Korea. Korean Air will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 296 seats for these flights.

Passenger demand from Korea to Hawaii has greatly increased since the US Visa Waiver Programs implementation for Korean nationals.

The number of passengers visiting Hawaii with Korean Air this year from January to April has exceeded 30,000, increasing by over 20% compared to the same period last year. Such trend has led Korean Air to step up its plan to increase frequencies from September to this coming June.

Furthermore, Korean Air has just, this week, opened a new lounge at Honolulu International Airport to provide a more comfortable travel experience for its premium passengers.
