Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Videos Tuesday, 24 November 2009

Aman Travels, a New Delhi-based travel company, has chosen Pegasus Solutions to power its online hotel booking site lasthotelroom.com. Through Pegasus’ UltraDirect connection, the website will now offer India’s $8.2 billion travel market direct, real-time access to more than 90,000 hotels worldwide.

The agreement serves as an extension to Aman’s long-standing relationship with Pegasus. Earlier this year, Aman Travels became the official sales representative for Pegasus’ representation service, Utell Hotels & Resorts; selling Utell’s more than 11,000 member hotels to local and regional travel agencies, travel management companies (TMCs), corporations and consortia groups in India. Aman is also a long-time Pegasus financial services customer, using the company’s market-leading commission processing services to pay travel agents booking hotels sold by Aman.

“India is one of the fastest-growing outbound travel markets in the world. The country has more than a billion inhabitants, and research shows gross domestic product increasing in excess of 8% each year,” said Ric Leutwyler, chief marketing officer for Pegasus Solutions. “Expanding the strength of our relationship with Aman Travels enables us to extend the option of accessing 90,000 of the world’s hotels to those booking travel in India.”
