Sunflower Travel to Implement Amadeus Agency Manager

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 22 July 2009

Amadeus is working closely with Sunflower Travel in Hong Kong to integrate the Agency Manager solution into their business by the end of 2009.

The Agency Manager is a mid and back office solution that helps travel agencies automate invoicing and reporting, manages service fee and margin, maintains profiles for customers, suppliers, products and their agency network, and facilitates important reconciliatory accounting activities.

It is a highly customisable solution that supports multiple-GDS connections and is open to third party accounting systems.

With seamless dataflow between the front, mid and back office, Agency Manager allows travel agents to avoid duplicate data entries and reduce errors, thus enabling improved productivity, service and data quality.

The solution is also compliant with multiple markets, allowing travel agencies to seamlessly coordinate the management of their offices in various countries – for example Griffin Marine Travel, a leading travel specialist for offshore industries, uses the Agency Manager in its offices across Australia, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Singapore and the UK.

Sunflower Travel, a leading travel agency in Hong Kong, has been working with Amadeus since 2004, having already adopted the Amadeus Selling Platform and Amadeus e-Travel Management solution. With the integration of Agency Manager in 2009, Sunflower Travel will manage its full operations from front to back office on Amadeus technology, in all branches across Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr. Anthony Chan, Assistant General Manager, Business Development, Sunflower Travel, said, “Despite the current economic downturn, Sunflower Travel Service continues to invest in technology. This is because we see that strengthening IT systems is a core strategy to increase our competitive edge and ensure our business longevity. We have chosen to partner closely with Amadeus because they understand our needs and offer us a scalable, future-proof IT platform that enables us to increase efficiency, maximise revenues and build customer loyalty through improved customer service. This is vital to our business, in addition to helping us prepare for the future economic recovery.”
