The stylish Hôtel de la Paix in Siem Reap, Cambodia, has appointed Wendy Morris as general manager. With the hotel now in its fifth year of operation, Wendy will focus on continuing to grow and position the hotel as a leading five-star establishment in Cambodia.

Wendy began her career as hotel management trainee at the Four Seasons Hotel in London, after completing her B. Sc in Hotel and Tourism Management at the University of Surrey. She then moved on to Cape Town and Greece, before relocating to Australia and spending more than 17 years working with some of the country’s leading luxury and boutique hotels. After 10 years working with Cbus Property as group general manager of Hotel Lindrum, Cumberland Lorne Resort and Harbour Rocks Hotel, Wendy’s success was affirmed with her appointment as general manager of the exclusive Lizard Island Resort.

“I was attracted by Hôtel de la Paix because of the unique style of the property and the fact that it’s not part of an homogenous and somewhat impersonal international brand. I truly believe that every property is unique in its physical product and location, and should be treated as such. I am also very much looking forward to maintaining and developing further the community interaction which the hotel has nurtured, and also to being closely involved in community sustainability programs to further enrich the lives of those less fortunate,” Wendy said.

Wendy’s extensive luxury boutique hotel experience and passion for excellence and detail is befitting of the iconic design of the hotel and underpins her belief that the success of the hotel is driven by the integrity and passion of the staff.
