Singapore Changi Airport is helping shoppers beat the recession via a special “Beat the Recession” promotion which rewards shoppers instantly with Changi shopping vouchers.

Sin$700,000 of Changi vouchers will be given away in this month-long shopping promotion.

Inspired by the amusement arcade game, shoppers use a huge hammer to strike a target and “beat the recession”. They will win Changi shopping vouchers in denominations of Sin$20, Sin$50, Sin$100 or Sin$150, corresponding to the score obtained.

In this sure-win promotion, even those who miss out on these prizes will walk away with a Sin$5 Changi voucher. The vouchers can be redeemed at any outlet in the Departure Transit Malls of Terminals 1, 2 or 3.

To qualify for “Beat the Recession”, spend Sin$801 and above in a single receipt at any outlet at the Departure Transit Malls of Terminals 1, 2 or 3. Each Sin$80 receipt entitles the shopper to participate in the hammer game. The “Beat the Recession” shopping promotion is running till 19 April 2009.

Those who are not travelling can take part in another shopping promotion at Changi Airport. The ‘Free Yourself from GST’ is being held at Terminal 3’s public area. This promotion ends on 30 April 2009.
