Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai will remain as the venue for the Annual Orion Congress to be held on 11 October, 2008 following recent fire damage to the yet-to-open hotel.

Adam Sargeant, Regional Manager, Orion Hotel Schools, said, “Hotel management from Atlantis, The Palm – the venue for the Orion Congress - have advised that their soft opening planned for the end of September, will go ahead, despite a recent fire and subsequent set-backs.”

The 5th annual Orion Congress is a one day event, centred around the theme What’s Next? Innovation in the tourism and hospitality industry.

“The fire at Atlantis saw an influx of enquiries about whether the Congress would go ahead or transfer to another venue. We are delighted to say everything is going ahead as planned,” said Mr Sargeant.

The event is a must for General Managers, Resident/Hotel Managers, Sales and Marketing professionals, PR practitioners, Procurement Managers and Human Resources staff. The Congress is open to all tourism professionals (US$390 per person) and students (US$200 per full-time student).
