Park Hotel Group and Raffles Design Institute launch Christmas Display Competition

Park Hotel Group has invited design students from Raffles Design Institute to create an original Christmas display based on their interpretation of the theme ‘Christmas by the Park’.

More than 100 students from the design school’s 3D Design (Product, Jewellery and Furniture), Interior Design and Fashion Marketing & Management faculties will be participating in the inaugural ‘Christmas by the Park’ Competition which kicks off from 1 October 2008.

The top two entries will win cash prizes of Sin$1,500 each and the opportunity to showcase their award-winning displays at the group’s two properties, Grand Plaza Park Hotel City Hall, Singapore and Park Hotel Orchard, Singapore.

“This Christmas, we wanted to engage our youths through a competition that will showcase their talents and needless to say, we are just as excited as them to see their creative outburst this festive season,” said Mr N Gunalan, Director of Marketing Communications, Park Hotel Group. “Raffles Design Institute is a premier design school and their partnership will certainly elevate the entry standards.”

The submission period for the competition will run from 1 October to 17 October 2008. Five entries will picked for the finals to be conducted at the Raffles Design Institute Gallery on 14 November, where a judging panel will pick the two winners based on Presentation, Creativity, Green Factor and Interpretation of Theme. The results will be announced at an award-giving ceremony held at Grand Plaza Park Hotel City Hall on 21 November 2008.
