As Thailand gears up for the world’s biggest water fight, the festival of Songkran, Hilton hotels in Thailand are providing a ‘Songkran
Survival Kit’ to help guests try and dodge a drenching.
Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year’s celebration, also known as the
Water Festival, and one of the more light-hearted aspects of the festivities is throwing water at each other. Thai people believe that water, as a symbol of cleansing and renewal, will wash away bad luck.
Hilton’s “Songkran Survival Kit” provides the tools to enjoy Songkran
fully and includes a water pistol and an exclusive
Hilton plastic poncho to every guest who stays a minimum of 2 nights with Hilton between 11 and 16 April.
During this time guests will also be treated to a traditional water welcome on arrival at their hotel. Prices start from THB 5,000++.
Songkran is an ideal time to visit Thailand for families and they are able to join in special fun-filled water rituals throughout the country.
Children particularly enjoy the festival’s water fights and are actively encouraged to join in by the locals.
