Thailand's Civil Aviation Department has ordered low cost airline, One-Two-Go, to halt operations for 30 days due to what is calls substandard operations. The Department has also revoked the licences of seven of the airline's pilots and suspended another two. The suspension of the airline's Air Operator Certificate is effective from today.

One-Two-Go Airlines was established by its parent company Orient-Thai in December 2003 to focus on domestic routes within Thailand. The airline operated scheduled flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Nakhomn Si Thammarat, Phuket and Surat Thani. With over 200 flights per week the airline has a monthly passenger capacity of over 100,000.

One-Two-Go has been involved in numerous disputes ever since one of its planes crashed. Flight OG269, an MD-82 flying from Bangkok to Phuket crashed on 16 September 2007 while attempting to land at Phuket International Airport killing 89 people and injuring 41.

The crash is Thailand’s deadliest since December 1998 when 101 people were killed when a Thai Airways plane crashed while trying to land in heavy rain at Surat Thani.
