Europcar opens New Branch in Karratha, Western Australia

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 20 November 2008

Europcar is strengthening its presence in Western Australia with a new branch in the mining community of Karratha. The new branch, which is open from 7.30am until 5pm seven days a week and located at 1120 Coolawanya Road, is Europcar’s 16th outlet in Western Australia.

The franchise is owned by local tour operators Tom and Annett Forman who run Europcar Exmouth. Ashley Rathers has been appointed as Europcar Karratha’s new manager.

Europcar’s new branch follows the launch of Virgin Blue services to Karratha Airport, which started October 21 this year and provide double daily direct flights between Perth and Karratha.

“Europcar’s sales team in the west have reported high levels of enquiry for hire car services, particularly since the start of Virgin Blue’s twice daily flights from Perth to Karratha,” said Europcar’s WA Operations Manager, Ian Whittick. “As the preferred partner of Virgin Blue, Europcar is keen to support the airline and match their efforts to improve services for passengers who use Karratha as a business base.”

Europcar will also be opening branches at Newman and Port Headland in the next few months to further satisfy demand for vehicles in Western Australia.

Europcar Karratha’s fleet includes Intermediate class cars, full size cars, standard and full size all-wheel drives and one-tonne dual cab 4WDs.

Europcar also has a car hire services desk at Karratha Airport, which is located beside the information bay near where passengers collect their luggage in the arrivals lounge.

The company is offering discounted rates for all guests flying with Virgin Blue.
