The
first Hilton Worldwide Resort in China, the Hilton Sanya Resort and Spa,
has secured its place as one of China’s top hotels after earning the prestigious five-star rating from the China National Tourism
Office.
Situated on the powdery white sands of the Hainan Island’s Yalong Bay, the
luxurious Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa was commended for its superior service and
facilities as well as the excellent operation of the hotel.
Commenting on the authorization, Mr. Jean-Pierre Mainardi, General Manager of
Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa said, “We are very pleased to receive such a positive
appraisal from China National Tourism Office as this official recognition carries great
weight in China.”

The rating process is organised by the China National Tourism Office’s Star Rating
Committee and involves a formal evaluation by inspectors of the entire resort from
the guest rooms and facilities to the food and beverage offerings, MICE facilities, spa
and even the landscape and building design as well as the management procedures
and team member service standards.
The
Hilton Sanya Resort and Spa is a 100,000 sqm sprawling
resort. The resort features 501 guestrooms, suites and villas and commands a prime
location of unspoilt beach front at the western end of Yalong Bay, a 30-minute drive
from the city of Sanya and the international airport. The average room size is
48.5sqm, with over 50% of the rooms overlooking a wide, crescent-shaped sandy
beach and the South China Sea.
A 6,780sqm Spa Retreat houses eight treatment pavilions, a fitness centre offering
a Kinesis line of exercise equipment, a reflex zone for traditional massages and
foot reflexology, a relaxation area with deck lounges, steam room and sauna, and a
tea lounge. Other facilities include seven restaurants and bars, a 3800sqm resort
pool resort, two tennis courts, Kidz Paradise, and a one-stop Yalong Bay Adventure
Club.
The resort also features a detached, all-inclusive MICE Pavilion that offers extensive
meeting and banquet facilities, more than 3,000sqm of space in two storeys as well
as spacious outdoor event lawns.
