Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 16 October 2008

Space at the meetings and incentive event, AIME 2009, is filling rapidly as returning exhibitors vie for the best locations.

Business Events Sydney (formerly Sydney Convention & Visitors Bureau) has significantly increased its space at AIME and its stand will incorporate a number of co-exhibitors from Sydney and New South Wales.

Tasmania, Brisbane Marketing, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Perth have also increased their space for the 2009 event.

Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau will once again have a strong showcase of meetings and incentive product, with co-exhibitors from Melbourne and regional Victoria, including the new Melbourne Convention Centre, the new Hilton Melbourne South Wharf and the new Southern Star Observation Wheel.

Exhibitors from Asia are also well represented at AIME 2009, with Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, China, India and Korea returning, and Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei and Macau increasing their space.

AIME has also attracted strong representation from the beautiful islands of the South Pacific and participants in 2009 will include Fiji, with a larger presence than previously, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Tahiti.

South Africa intends to increase brand awareness at AIME 2009 with a larger stand, more co-exhibitors and additional marketing through its sponsorship of the Globe Restaurant and Bar, where exhibitors, buyers and visitors can sample a taste of South Africa.

Etihad Airways which has previous exhibited under the Abu Dhabi banner is taking its own 75sqm stand at AIME 2009. LAN Airlines will also have its own, larger stand space, while Qantas and Virgin Blue will have significant booth space.

Dubai returns to AIME, once again with a significant showcase of meetings and incentive products and services from this rapidly growing Emirate.

Elizabeth Sarian, AIME Acting Event Director, said, “We have modified the floorplan to ensure better traffic flow by having two entry/exits to the event. This will increase visitor traffic to the Asian and International sections of the exhibition and allow for better visitor movement around the show.”

AIME 2009 will be held on 17 and 18 February at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Australia.
