Europcar’s Australian and New Zealand Operations to benefit New Strategic Alliance

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Monday, 15 September 2008

Europcar’s Australian and New Zealand operations are set to benefit from a new strategic alliance between Europcar Europe and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which is one of the largest car rental companies in North America.

The new agreement between Europcar and Enterprise took effect on September 3. The new partnership is expected to enhance the transatlantic alliance entered into by Europcar in November 2006 with National Car Rental and Alamo Rent-A-Car. Enterprise purchased the National and Alamo brands in North America August 2007.

Together, Europcar and Enterprise offer a fleet of more than 1.2 million vehicles at more than 13,000 locations in 162 countries.

Group Marketing Manager Europcar Australia Ashley Jurberg said the expanded alliance would not only strengthen traffic between North America and Europe but would help to leverage and boost traffic with Asia Pacific through Europcar’s Australian and New Zealand hubs.

“The new partnership provides rental car coverage for customers travelling between each partner company’s areas of operations,” Mr Jurberg said. “Our local customers here in the Asia Pacific region will benefit from each partner taking a coordinated approach to global corporate accounts. The agreement also will offer a harmonized loyalty program.”
