Corp Executive Hotels has signed a memorandum of understanding for a hotel in Doha. It will be Corps first hotel in Qatar.

The Corp Doha will feature 210 rooms with facilities such as a well-equipped business centre, state-of-the-art gym, world-class dining options, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and 24-hour room service. The hotel will be ready to welcome its first guests in the beginning of 2011.

Michel Noblet, Managing Director, HMH Hospitality Management Holdings, said, "We feel its a brilliant opportunity. Qatar has been making bold moves in terms of development. This has led to a massive boom in economic activity attracting investors and professionals in large numbers to cities like Doha. It has naturally pushed up the demand for quality hotels."

The demand for top-end hotel accommodations is expected to double by an additional 8,500 rooms by 2010 in Qatar. Room rates have already doubled in the past 12 months as people flock to Doha for business and conferences. Average room occupancy too has risen from 69% in 2003 to over 80% recently. More and more leisure tourists are coming to the destination attracted by the luxurious surroundings of planned marinas, quality hotels, beaches and shopping and entertainment districts.
