Qantas launches Q Catering in Australia

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Wednesday, 12 March 2008

Qantas has launched Q Catering, the new identity of its premium catering brand for the Australian marketplace. The airline’s two wholly owned subsidiary businesses, Qantas Flight Catering Limited (QFCL) and Caterair Airport Services Pty Limited (Caterair), would operate under the new brand.

“The introduction of the Q Catering brand comes after a comprehensive two-year review of our catering operations and follows significant investment in new systems, equipment and our people,” said Qantas Executive General Manager Services Curtis Davies.

“The new Q Catering brand reinforces the premium elements of the QFCL and Caterair brands, businesses and people, and introduces a unified brand for the Australian marketplace. Q Catering will provide high quality food to full service airlines.”

The newly branded Q Catering centres encompass 3,500 experienced staff in seven centres across the country, with operations in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, and two centres in Sydney. Combined, they make up one of the largest airline catering businesses in the Southern Hemisphere, delivering more than 40 million meals to over 25 customer airlines, including Qantas and QantasLink.

Snap Fresh, Qantas’ high quality frozen meal manufacturer will retain its current brand and identity.
