Continental's Presidents Club in Houston wins Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Award

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Monday, 10 March 2008

Members of the independent airport lounge program, Priority Pass, have voted the Continental Presidents Club in Houston, Terminal E as their number one lounge worldwide – the fourth consecutive year that Continental has claimed this honor, and the third year out of four for this particular lounge.

The Presidents Club in Houston Terminal E won the inaugural Priority Pass Lounge of the Year award in 2005, and repeated that in 2006. Last year it was narrowly beaten out for the title by another Continental lounge – a newly-refurbished location in Newark, NJ – but members’ ratings have restored it to its number one position for 2008.

Also starring in the 2008 awards was the Skyview Lounge, at Singapore Changi Airport, recipient of the Lounge of the Year award for Asia Pacific for the second successive year.

“These lounges are rated against many of the best in the world, including brand new, well-equipped lounges in the Middle East, some excellent Asian and Latin American lounges, and also the best that Europe has to offer, including regional winner, Swiss-Lounge in Basel,” said Terry Evans, President, Priority Pass USA. “These successive awards are a testament to Continental’s excellent facilities for travelers combined with first class staff in the lounge.”

Janice Foster, Manager, Continental Airlines Presidents Club lounges added, “It is very humbling to once again be recognized by Priority Pass members as Lounge of the Year for the fourth straight time. Our goal at Continental Presidents Club is to be consistent and provide all visitors with an exceptional travel experience. I know I speak for our entire Presidents Club team when I say that we’re honored to be recognized once again for our high service standards!”

Priority Pass has held its Lounge of the Year awards since 2005, and the objective is to rate each lounge in the program. Members are asked to rate each lounge they have visited based on the facilities provided, the general ambience and the service they receive. Over 8,000 ratings were made for the 2008 awards.
