The Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art which opened in 2004, is located on the slopes of Mount Namsan, just 10 minutes by shuttle bus from The Shilla.

Comprising three central, interconnected buildings designed by world renowned architects Mario Botta, Jean Nouvel and Rem Koolhaas, the Leeum houses one of the best collections of western modern art in Asia, as well as a fine selection of antique Korean ceramics, metalwork and paintings. Permanent exhibits include works by Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning, Francis Bacon and Damien Hirst. Opening hours are 10.30 am to 6 pm Tuesday to Sunday.

The Shilla, which has been selected as the official hotel for Manchester Uniteds 2007 Asian Summer Tour, completed an extensive two-year makeover last year creating a "lifestyle destination" with dramatically improved shopping, dining, health and beauty, wedding, conference and business facilities.

The refurbishment includes a new lobby, lounge and bar, conference centre and The Parkview, a new restaurant with open-air terrace, along with the very first Guerlain Spa in Asia.

Also restyled are the grand ballroom, meeting rooms, executive conference centre and all public areas - with a prestigious new shopping arcade now showcasing over 20 world-famous brand name boutiques, high profile Korean labels and famed 'florist to the stars' Paula Pryke.

The 465-room, Shilla Seoul is an affiliate of the Samsung Corporation and member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
