Travel News Asia Tuesday, 4 September 2007

Visa International, in cooperation with Sakura House, a real estate agency that specializes in providing short term rental accommodation for foreign visitors to Tokyo, have launched the “Stay at Sakura House with Visa Campaign”.

The campaign will run until 29 December 2007 allows guests to enjoy a discount of 3,000 yen off the first month’s rental. The Sakura House manages more than 1,200 furnished apartments/rooms at more than 120 locations in central Tokyo and is an ideal choice for foreign visitors planning to live in Tokyo from one month to one year. There are three types of accommodation at the Sakura House, one and two-room studio apartments priced from 80,000 yen/month, a guesthouse priced from 48,000 yen/month, or dormitory accommodation which is priced from 35,000 yen/month.

Sakura House services include staff who can speak English, Chinese, and Korean; fully-furnished apartments and rooms; free internet access is provided for most properties; and, all electricity, gas, and water bills, and maintenance/repairs are covered. There is also no need to pay a deposit or offer a guarantor (often a prerequisite when renting a place in Japan). In addition, Visa cardholders are able to pay the 30,000 Yen deposit and rental with their Visa card - with the deposit then partially refundable to 20,000 yen.

In order to take advantage of the “Stay at Sakura House with Visa Campaign”, travellers need to print out the offer coupon from any Visa country website in Asia Pacific or from the card-issuers’ websites. Reservations can be made by phone or online. Cardholders need to mention they are using the offer coupon at time of reservation and must present it along with their Visa card upon checking in. Each cardholder is only entitled to use the voucher once per stay regardless of period of stay. The promotion is applicable to all Visa cards issued in the Asia Pacific region excluding Japan.
