Caravelle Hotel Ho Chi Minh appoints New Executive Assistant Manager

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Tuesday, 4 December  2007

The Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has appointed Juan Costa Ribas, formerly the hotel's Director of Food & Beverage, as the new Executive Assistant Manager.

Before moving to the Caravelle in 2001, Costa Ribas spent five years in food and beverage management at Saigon’s New World Hotel. He’s also been a cook, barman and front office clerk.

“Juan knows how to do every single job in the hotel business”, said John Gardner, the Caravelle’s General Manager. “He’s been with us for six years and he’s familiar with every glass, chair and fork in the Caravelle. When we were looking for a new Executive Assistant Manager, we didn’t have to look outside our own door. He was the obvious choice due to his hard work, dedication & professionalism.”

A native of Spain, Juan Costa literally grew up in a hotel, attending to guests at his family’s hotel in Ibiza. He has since spent his entire career in the hotel business. With a string of qualifications from the Hotel School of Lausanne and fluency in four languages, he’s got an extensive skill set. He has worked in hotels the world over, from Geneva to Tirana to Bangkok, and has lived in Ho Chi Minh City since 1996.

“Moving from F & B to management of a hotel of this size is a thrilling step for me,” said Juan Costa. “It’s an opportunity to really spread my wings and focus on the development of the hotel as a whole. I couldn’t wait to get started.”
