Positive Figures for TFWA Asia Pacific

Travel News Asia Thursday, 3 May 2007

The forecasts of unprecedented growth in air transport in the Asia Pacific region and the related increase in duty free and travel retail anticipated by suppliers have stimulated demand for stand space and visitor accreditation at this year's TFWA Asia Pacific.

At the annual duty free and travel retail exhibition, which opens on Tuesday 15th May in the Singapore Suntec Centre, a total of 199 companies will exhibit their innovative and luxury products including 58 new and returning companies.

These companies will occupy over 5,500 square metres of stand space compared to 5,100 sqm last year, an increase of over 7%. In 2006, in addition to the normal stand space, a dedicated area of 300 sqm was occupied by the ‘Design Studio’ which gave exposure to several brands which were new to duty free and travel retail, a couple of which are exhibiting this year in their own right.

Pre-registration figures for TFWA Asia Pacific are also encouraging and initial indications are that visitor numbers will exceed the 2,000 people who attended last year. By the end of April, 1,998 people had pre-registered for the event of which over 40% are key airport landlords and duty free / travel retail operators.

Already 606 people have pre-registered for the TFWA Asia Pacific Conference which opens the event at 09.00 on Tuesday 15th May. A total of 259 people have pre-registered for the E-tailing Breakfast Workshop at 08.30 on Wednesday, and 274 for the India and China Research Breakfast Workshop at 08.30 on Thursday.

Online visitor pre-registration for the TFWA Asia Pacific conference and exhibition was extended until today, Thursday 3rd May. After today visitors are required to register in person on-site at the Singapore Suntec Centre (level 1) from Sunday 13th May to the closing day Friday 18th May.
