Master chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten renews Culinary Concepts at the Westin Guangzhou

Internationally acclaimed master chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and his creative team have taken up temporary residence at The Westin Guangzhou on a culinary mission to propose innovative dining experiences for hotel guests. As part of his mission he will review all the restaurants at the hotel as well as visit Guangzhou’s food markets and some of the city’s great restaurants.

Jean-Georges is one of the most famous chefs in the world and has developed and owns numerous world-class restaurants, including the highly successful Spice Market restaurant in New York City, Vong’s Thai Kitchen, Café Martinique, Lagoon, plus a new soon to-be-developed multi-unit Jean-Georges restaurant concept.

He currently holds an unprecedented total of 20 stars from The New York Times for his seven New York City restaurants, while his Jean-Georges restaurant was recently awarded three coveted Michelin stars.

Jean-Georges’ mission at The Westin Guangzhou will be to determine how to translate the Westin brand’s core values to memorable dining experiences.

The Westin Guangzhou features 5 restaurants: Hong Mian, a contemporary interpretation of popular and traditional Cantonese dishes; Qba a Latin-American bar and restaurant serving innovative tapas and succulent meats imported from around the globe; Taste, an all-day buffet and à-la-carte restaurant offering international favorites in a light, airy and open atmosphere; the soon to open Prego, a lively modern Italian restaurant serving authentic specialties on the hotel’s top floor, surrounded by panoramic views of the city; and White Scent, the lobby lounge which offers guests a refreshing range of beverages including teas, fresh juices, coffees and cocktails accompanied by sweet and salty, natural light nibbles in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
