Hertz launches Hourly Rentals in New York and Boston

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Tuesday, 23 October 2007

Hertz in New York and Boston has launched a novel new concept - Hertz Hourly Rentals - a short-term car rental programme, from just US$12 per hour, at all 12 Hertz locations in Manhattan, and at the company's Boston Park Plaza location in Boston.

With no fuel charge, no application fees and no fees for cancelling or changing a reservation, Hertz Hourly Rentals are an easy way to rent a car on an hourly basis, for up to seven hours.

As with all Hertz rentals, Hertz Hourly Rentals also includes unlimited mileage and 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance.

"Although New York City boasts one of the world's largest mass transit systems, for small errands or quick daytrips, a personal vehicle is sometimes the most convenient way to travel," said Kevin Doyle, International Sales and Marketing Manager for Hertz Australia.

"With the introduction of Hertz Hourly Rentals, we're offering our customers in New York and Boston the most convenient way to access a reliable rental vehicle, with no strings, commitment or additional fees."

In addition to Hertz Hourly Rental rates from US$12 per hour, customers also receive a one-year complimentary membership in Hertz #1 Club Gold, Hertz's top-rated membership program (a $50 value).

Numerous vehicle models are available, ranging from compact to midsize sedans, midsize SUVs and the recently launched Hertz Green Collection vehicles, featuring fuel-efficient, environmentally-friendly models. Add-on services such as EZ-Pass tag rentals, additional drivers, child seats, and other optional services are also available through Hertz hourly rentals.

In New York, the Hertz Hourly Rentals programme also offers a range of vehicles including sporty Mini Coopers, perfect for NYC driving and parking conditions, and fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly Toyota Prius hybrid vehicles.

Customers also have the ability to return vehicles to any Manhattan location at no additional charge.
