Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Wednesday, 19 September 2007

Silversea Cruises has confirmed the return of its luxury cruise ship Silver Whisper to ports across Asia and the South Pacific on a variety of exotic cruises from December 2007 throughout 2008.

Silver Whisper will travel no less than twelve journeys across Asia and the South Pacific during 2008, offering voyages ranging from nine to seventeen nights from Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Auckland.

On its initial Pan Asia voyage of 2008, Silver Whisper will journey from Singapore to Sydney, departing 20 December and arriving 1 January.

En route, the ship will call at Kura Kura and Semarang in Indonesia before navigating the breadth of Australia, resting at ports in Darwin, Thursday Island, Cairns, Fitzalan - a Whitsunday island, Brisbane and finally Sydney for sensational new year day celebrations.

Of the other eleven Asia and South Pacific cruises, Silver Whisper will call at ports including New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei and China. Guests can discover Vietnam's imperial city of Hue, absorb the culture of Ho Chi Minh city or the ancient wonders of Guangzhou, the bustling skyline of Hong Kong or the tranquillity of Western Australia.

To complement the cruises, Silversea is offering guests a range of exciting land programmes, from viewing the majesty of Angkor Wat, to the Bay of Dragons Silversea Experience. All programmes include deluxe accommodation, transportation and transfers as well as tour guides and meals.

Silver Whisper is the newest of the Silversea fleet, launched in 2001. From Vista to Owner's Suite, each room category is warm and inviting, expertly designed and exquisitely appointed with signature Silversea suite amenities. Every suite offers a personal view of sea and sky, and 80% are complemented with furnished teak verandas -- the perfect venue for breakfast while watching the next port approach closer into view.

Throughout their time onboard, guests can enjoy Silversea's world class all-inclusive service - a premium assortment of complimentary wines, champagnes and spirits served throughout the ships and daily stocked in-suite beverage cabinet with guests' preferred assortment of complimentary beverages.

Silversea sets no meal times, there are no assigned tables. Passengers dine when, where and with whom they want. Silversea even offers a 24-hour complimentary room-service - be it formal dinner served course-by-course, a late night snack or full breakfast delivered at request at no charge.

Evenings are filled with entertainment and culture from classical performances, to jazz ensembles to regional entertainment and lectures given by luminaries from around the world of food and wines, famous explorers, celebrities and renowned authors and artists at each destination.
