Travel News Asia Monday, 19 February 2007

Italian cruise company, Costa Crociere has released its new 2008 brochure. The brochure is being published well in advance in all the countries where Costa Crociere operates and the new edition features a number of major innovations.

The new brochure is now being distributed almost a year ahead of the cruise departure dates to enable all Costa’s customers to take full advantage of “ProntoPrice”, the company’s pricing policy introduced in September 2005, with discounted rates exclusively available to early bookers. “ProntoPrice” boosted the trend towards advance booking in 2006, with the majority of Costa Crociere’s clientele now planning their vacations 2 months to 6 months prior to departure, in stark contrast to the widespread practice of marketing “last minute holidays”.

“ProntoPrice has ushered a veritable revolution, both for us and for our customers. For us it’s a completely different and more innovative way of working and managing the company. We’re becoming increasingly future-oriented and increasingly international. At the same time, the ProntoPrice fares offer our clientele big advantages that meet their new demands - they can plan their vacations well ahead, enjoy great freedom of choice, get better value for money and reap the benefits of the movement towards greater price transparency,” said Costa President Gianni Onorato.

Costa Crociere released its new 2008 brochure with itineraries in fabulous locations around the world. Among them, Costa Cruises will re-deploy both Costa Romantica and Costa Europa to Dubai during the Winter 2007-2008 as well as Costa Marina to Mauritius and Seychelles (Indian Ocean), the great novelty of next Costa Season.

Costa Magica, Costa Victoria and Costa Classica will offer itineraries in the South American Region, where Costa is growing while Costa Fortuna, Costa Mediterranea and Costa Atlantica will be in the Caribbean.

During Winter 2007-2008, Costa Concordia and Costa Serena will be kept in the Mediterranean Sea to strengthen its already popular and complete program.

Meanwhile in Asia, Costa Cruises this year is adding new destinations for travels onboard Costa Allegra originating from Hong Kong offering 14-night cruise to the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam and China.

This summer, Costa Allegra will also introduce 4-day-to-6-day trips to Japan and Korea via Tianjin and Shanghai. Costa Cruises, one of the first international cruise company to serve Asia, is enjoying tremendous growth in the last 18 months and expecting the growth momentum to continue. The Cruise Lines International Association has predicted that cruise passengers will reach 12.62 million in 2007, an increase of about half a million over last year.

To date, Costa Cruises have a total of 11 ships in service - state-of-the-art vessels luxuriously equipped with everything you need for an “Italian style” holiday at sea. To strengthen Costa Cruises growing international network, the newest flagship Costa Serena will make its maiden trip in May 2007, increasing the company's fleet size to 12 ships.
