Travel News Asia Friday, 6 October 2006

Travelers on the go can now enjoy the old-fashioned pleasure of a professional shine at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

Innovative New Service at Hong Kong International Airport

Two new shoe shine kiosks, located at Level 7 of the East Hall and operated by Hong Kong Shoe Shine Limited, will offer three options for travelers wanting to look their best.

Professional shoe shiners offer one of the following three services:

Standard Shine: 2 coats of polish for HK$55 (US$7.00)
Executive Shine: 3 coats of polish for HK$65 (US$8.50)
Imperial Shine: 4 coats of polish for HK$75 (US$9.50)

“This is one of those classic services that gives travelers a moment to sit back, relax, read a paper, or strike up a conversation about the news of the day,” said Airport Authority Hong Kong’s Commercial Director Hans Bakker. "We truly understand travelers' needs, and we want to take every opportunity to make their experience at HKIA more memorable and enjoyable.”

The kiosks will be open from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm on Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday.
