New One Stop Services Between Australia and Dublin

Travel News Asia Friday, 6 October 2006

Irelands Aer Lingus has joined with Emirates to offer new one-stop services from three Australian cities to the Irish capital, Dublin, flying via Dubai.

The airlines have also introduced competitive new one way and roundtrip air fares, starting at approximately A$1046 one way and A$2007 roundtrip, including taxes and charges, from Australia to Ireland.

Effective from 29 October, nonstop Emirates flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth will connect in Dubai each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with Aer Lingus flight EI 101 to Dublin.

A fourth Emirates service, from Brisbane, via Singapore, will also connect in Dubai with the onward Aer Lingus service, which departs within two hours.

From Sydney, the roundtrip Aer Lingus / Emirates fare, including taxes and charges is A$2023, while one way is A$1052; from Melbourne the all-inclusive roundtrip fare is A$2007 and the one-way fare A$1046; and from Perth and Brisbane, the roundtrip fare is A$2009, while one way is A$1048.

Aer Lingus commenced Dubai services earlier this year, using new two-class Airbus A330-300 twinjets to provide a fast new link between the southern hemisphere and Ireland, eliminating the need for passengers to fly via the busy London Heathrow Airport.

Aer Lingus flight EI 101 departs Dubai at 7.30am, less than two hours after the arrival of the four Australian flights, and arrives in Dublin at midday, 8 hours later.

The return service, EI 102, departs Dublin at 5.45pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Dubai at 5.05am the following day, to connect with southbound Emirates services.
