Amadeus e-Travel Management solution adds New Enhancements

Travel News Asia 3 February 2006

The latest enhancements Amadeus has made to its e-Travel Management (Aergo) solution for corporations are now available.

The new features enable better control over travel policy and cost management for the travel administrator. With more capacity to tailor what the traveller sees when making a booking, the corporate travel manager moves further towards the ultimate goal of corporate self-booking solutions – 100% adoption. For the traveller, improved presentation of onscreen data means a much smoother, more-informed and faster booking process. Further upgrades are planned for 2006. Enhancements will include, for example, one way combinable fares that provide wider choice, more flexibility and increased cost savings.

David Brett, President, Amadeus Asia Pacific commented, "These enhancements are clear evidence that our ongoing dialogue with corporate customers and TMC partners is speedily translated into action. At the same time we are also ensuring that Amadeus e-Travel Management (Aergo) is flexible and readily-tailored to specific market requirements. It is far from a ‘one size fits all’ solution.”

Some of the new benefits of the globally-enhanced functions include:

Better communication with travellers through targeted messaging - The travel manager can now configure targeted messages to employees travelling to specific destinations to inform them about particular security restrictions or administrative requirements, to promote local services or to explain corporate travel policies, without flooding all travellers with information messages.

Easier approval process - A new section on the approver's home page displays at a glance the most urgent trips needing approval. This functionality ensures approvers will immediately see when their approval is required, and reduces the number of steps to approve/reject trips.

Educate users about early purchase fare savings - Thanks to new advance purchase policy rules, travel managers can educate users about the benefits of fare savings through making reservations as far in advance as possible. Late bookers are requested to justify late reservation and force an approval process.

Maximise benefits of integrating with existing IT systems - More open interfaces with external systems allow corporations to leverage their IT infrastructure through benefits such as single sign-on, access through intranet portals, integration with internal workflow or expense management systems, and profile synchronisation with HR or agency user databases.

Get the cheapest, practical fare with Fare Search - Flights may be filtered from the fare search display according to either duration compared to the shortest possible itinerary, or a maximum number of connections, in order to avoid travellers losing time in comparing itineraries which may be too complex or irrelevant. Travellers can also request to see direct trips only when comparing flights and train trips.
