Travel News Asia 3 January 2006

Alka Kapoor has been appointed as Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts' Corporate Director of Revenue Management.

Armed with thirteen years in the hotel industry, Alka has held a variety of responsibilities at both property and corporate level. She first began her career in the Front Office departments at leading hotels in Singapore since 1990. Highly adaptable to the rigorous environment of the hotel industry, Alka then moved on to spend nine years with InterContinental Hotel & Resorts, first at a property level and then at a corporate level.

In her role as system trainer, she was involved in setting up training programs for the company’s proprietary Reservation systems and Revenue Management systems for the Asia Pacific region. She also worked to ensure the smooth integration of the system with the various Property Management Systems within the hotel chain. During her tenure, she assumed the role of Regional Revenue and Systems Manager for Southern Asia where she was responsible for revenue generation at over forty hotels in the region.

Alka Kapoor then took her experience internationally to Atlanta where she joined InterContinental Hotels Group’s Global Revenue Management team where her responsibilities constituted incorporating Revenue Management and Pricing practices into its proprietary systems and all its distribution channels.

“We are very pleased to welcome Alka to the Pan Pacific team. Her invaluable knowledge and experience in revenue management will definitely prove to be an advantageous addition to the Pan Pacific brand” said Mr. Arthur Ikeda, President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
