China Airlines strengthens distribution agreement with Amadeus

Travel News Asia Thursday, 28 September 2006

China Airlines has strengthened its distribution agreement with Amadeus, providing travel agents with increased, reliable access to the airlines’ hosting system to view booking details.

Working with Amadeus, China Airlines will make all passenger reservation information readily and conveniently available to travel agents with improved functionality. The new agreement is expected to reduce the number of incoming calls and queries to its call centre, cut down operational costs and improve productivity, allowing the Taiwanese airline to redeploy its resources to its main line of business.

David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific said, “With this new feature, travel agents have a far more competitive level of PNR access. They will be able to check passenger name records directly on the China Airlines system, and complete the ticketing process with the confidence that the availability and fares information they are seeing is reliable and absolutely up to date.”

Mr. Hsieh Su-Chien, VP Passenger Sales of China Airlines added, “We were looking to give travel agents greater clarity when managing flight information on our airline. Through partnering with Amadeus, we have found a reliable solution that we are certain will deliver the level of convenience and confidence to agents that we expect.”
