Sabre Travel Network Middle East wins Two UAE customers

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 2 May 2006

Two of the UAE’s largest travel agencies have switched to Sabre Travel Network Middle East from Galileo.

Sharaf Travel, is among the top ten agencies in the UAE and has grown since its establishment in 1991 to its current nine offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali and Sharjah.

Al Rais Travel has been serving its diverse customer base from 11 branches across the country for almost three decades.

The conversions have equipped the agencies with sophisticated tools to manage their operations, enhance customer service, drive efficiency, reduce costs and increase their revenues through Sabre Travel Network Middle East’s provision of technology services, bookable travel products and distribution services.

“These two new partnerships are based on our common desire for long-term growth,” said Daniel Naoumovitch, Sabre Travel Network Middle East’s chief executive officer. “Our parent company, Sabre Holdings, will continue to use its strong ownership presence in every channel of travel marketing, sales and distribution to negotiate with suppliers for the best rates and bookable content for our travel agency customers. This strength will ensure that we remain the most efficient global marketplace for the buying and selling of travel.”

Both agencies are now using MySabre, the web based booking tool that combines traditional products bookable in the Sabre system, such as airlines, car hire, hotels, cruise and rail, with content from the Internet and third-party suppliers. They have also both become the first in the UAE to take advantage of the SabreSonic Web, enabling their travel consultants to compete cost-effectively in the online arena.

Both agencies are running high-speed Sabre applications using desktop technology featuring the latest small factor PCs with 17” monitors. The upgrade represents Sabre Travel Network Middle East’s largest hardware conversion to take place in the UAE in a single day.

As part of the migration process travel consultants from both agencies were trained by a number of specialised Sabre trainers. Travel consultants at Sharaf Travel are also being supported during a transition period by extensive and ongoing in-house training from Sabre Travel Network Middle East’s specialists. Further support is also accessible round-the-clock through the company’s telephone help desk facilities in both Dubai and in neighbouring Bahrain.
