Commemorating Earth Day at Angsana Resorts & Spa worldwide

Travel News Asia 2 February 2006

The Banyan Tree Group is celebrating Earth Day on 22 April 2006, with a series of promotions at Angsana Resorts & Spa and Colours of Angsana resorts worldwide. At the same time, Angsana Gallery will contribute two percent of its total global revenue to the group's Green Imperative Fund for the month of April 2006.

Angsana Gallery - Inspired by the resemblance between the signature Angsana motif and the attractive starfish, Angsana Gallery launches the Starfish series in conjunction with Earth Day. Distinctively vibrant and colourful, this new collection includes bandanas, tank tops and adorable rubber magnets.

Developed to promote awareness of the marine world, the starfish range is the latest addition to Angsana Gallery's green awareness collection, which includes eco-friendly turtle magnets made from gingko nutshells.

Earth Day Packages - Angsana Resorts & Spa, being the sister brand of Banyan Tree, provides a contemporary, chic and vibrant alternative for young families and professionals. To mark the occasion, the environmentally sensitive Angsana Resort & Spa Maldives Ihuru will be offering its private beachfront villa from US$514++ per night, complete with a guided snorkelling trip for two in the beautiful Indian Ocean and a calming 60-minutes Essen-sual Massage for two. With a minimum stay of four nights, guests can enjoy daily breakfast and dinner at Riveli and an additional twenty percent savings on any of the a la carte massages at Angsana Spa.

With a spectacular view of the South China Sea, Angsana Resort & Spa Bintan promises a relaxing getaway for two from US$169++ for a Superior Room, with a minimum stay of two nights. The package comes with daily breakfast, a snorkelling excursion at a colourful coral site near the resort and twenty percent savings on a la carte massages at the signature Angsana Spa.

As part of the Angsana portfolio, Colours Of Angsana is a boutique collection of small hotels in exotic destinations. The eco-sensitive Deer Park Hotel in Sri Lanka takes its name from the tropical jungle - once the private hunting grounds of ancient kings - and recreates the novel experience of jungle living through careful preservation of its natural environment. For Earth Day, guests who book a minimum of three nights at Earth Day rates of US$800++ for a Duplex Cottage, will enjoy daily breakfast for two, one elephant drive in Minneriya National Park for two, choice of one tour to Sigiraya for rock climbing or a bush walk/bird watching experience for two, and one Earth Healer massage for two. A vegetarian dinner for two is also included in the package.

All packages are valid during the months of April and May 2006 and come with a special gift from Angsana Gallery.
